When you visit an orthodontist, or any other health professional, you want to be assured that all measures taken to ensure a safe, sanitary and sterile environment. In keeping with our commitment to provide patients with the very best orthodontic treatment available, we have taken great measures to ensure that our sterilization program exceeds even the most stringent standards of care. Our clinical staff members wear protective gloves while working, and a new pair is used for every patient. We also wear protective eyewear and masks for procedures that warrant their use. We use disposable items whenever possible, and we do not use recycled brackets, bands or other appliances.
All instruments are mechanically cleaned and placed in our state-of-the-art heat sterilization unit. Dental hand-pieces either utilize disposable attachments or are cleaned after each use and heat sterilized in an autoclave sterilizer specifically designed for dental hand-pieces. Also, all exposed surfaces in the treatment area are constantly cleaned and treated with the very best surface disinfectants.
Staff members have received extensive training with regards to sterilization procedures, and have been vaccinated against the Hepatitis B virus. We are proud of our sterilization program, and welcome any questions you might have about it.
